HopPurr privacy policy
Last updated 30 October 2026
In short
HopPurr collects nothing about your child. It has no accounts, shows no ads and follows your child nowhere. What your child does stays on the device. The internet is only needed to check the subscription, and nothing about what your child plays goes along.
Who we are
HopPurr is made by Coddin. Questions about privacy are welcome at info@coddin.nl.
What we do not collect
- No name, e-mail address, date of birth or any other detail about your child. The app never asks you to fill anything in.
- No account and no sign-in.
- No advertising and no advertising identifier.
- No analytics, measurement software or third-party trackers.
- No camera, microphone, location, contacts or photos. The app asks for no permission on either platform.
- No cookies, no device identifier, no fingerprinting.
When the app goes online
Only to ask whether a subscription is running, and to take one out (see Paying). Nothing else: every picture, voice and piece of music is in the app itself, and the games work entirely in aeroplane mode. A subscription that is running keeps counting without internet too.
What the app does remember
So your child can carry on where they left off, the app writes a few things down in its own ordinary storage, on the device itself. This is the whole list:
| Name on the device | What for |
|---|---|
language | The language Kat and Konijn speak. |
haptics | Whether the device vibrates on touch. |
music_enabled | Whether the background music is on. |
level_<game> | How hard each game is set to be. |
played_<game> | The day a game was last open. The day only, never the time, for the overview in the parent corner. |
picknick_tutorial_done | Whether the Picnic tutorial has been shown. |
schaduwspel_tutorial_done | Whether the Shadow Match tutorial has been shown. |
telspel_give_tutorial_done | Whether the Counting tutorial has been shown. |
letterboom_tutorial_done | Whether the Letters tutorial has been shown. |
plakboek_tutorial_done | Whether the Sticker book tutorial has been shown. |
memory_tutorial_done | Whether the Memory tutorial has been shown. |
patronen_tutorial_done | Whether the Patterns tutorial has been shown. |
hoeveel_tutorial_done | Whether the How Many? tutorial has been shown. |
verstoppen_tutorial_done | Whether the Where Is It? tutorial has been shown. |
letterboom_traced | Which letters your child has traced, for the stars in the tree. |
telspel_amount | How far Counting counts at the moment. |
memory_board | The unfinished Memory board, so the game carries on where your child left it. |
schaduwspel_round | The unfinished round of Shadow Match. |
patronen_round | The unfinished round of Patterns. |
hoeveel_round | The unfinished round of How Many? |
verstoppen_round | How many stars the round of Where Is It? had. |
plakboek_page | The sticker book pages: which sticker is stuck where. |
free_games | Which games are free, as the store last said, so that holds without internet too. |
None of it goes anywhere. We cannot reach it, and neither can anyone else.
Deleting
Removing the app wipes everything in the list above at once; it belongs to the app and goes where the app goes. The sticker book can also be emptied on its own, in the parent corner behind the parent gate.
Children
HopPurr is made for children of 3 to 5. That is exactly why there is nothing in it through which a child could reach out: no ads, no social media, no chat. The parent corner, the subscription and the only links out (the store's terms and managing the subscription) sit behind a parent gate, so a child cannot get there by accident.
Because no personal data is collected, no children's data is processed within the meaning of the GDPR, and nothing is collected from children under 13 within the meaning of the US COPPA.
Paying
A few games are free; the rest open with a subscription (monthly, or yearly with a free first week). Paying runs entirely through the App Store or Google Play. We see no name, e-mail address or payment details.
To keep track of whether a subscription is running, we use RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc., USA). For that the device sends a random number the app makes up itself, the store's receipt, the store's country and the kind of device and operating system. No name, no device or advertising identifier, and nothing about what your child plays. RevenueCat keeps this on our behalf, for this purpose only.
App Store and Google Play
Downloading and updating the app goes through Apple and Google. Their own privacy policies apply to that part, and we have no say in it.
Your rights
Because we collect nothing about your child, there is nothing of your child with us to see, correct, take along or have deleted. To be certain nothing is left on the device: remove the app.
For a subscription, RevenueCat holds only the random number with the receipts. To see it or have it deleted, write to us; cancelling you do yourself, in the store.
Changes
If what the app remembers or does ever changes, this policy changes with it in the same moment, with a new date at the top.
